MDLR launches flights to Dehradun
MDLR airlines announced the launch of direct flight services to dehradun from 4-june-2008. The airline operates 70-seater Avro Jets that will complete the journey in 35 minutes and will operate Monday to Saturday. It has also announced free air tickets for all passengers traveling to dehradun during the inaugural week; they will only have to pay the airport taxes of Rs. 2375 as applicable. MDLR presently flies on the Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Ranchi-Kolkata and Delhi-Dharamshala routes.

The Shatabdi Express trains in India connect India's capital New Delhi with various state capitals, which lie within a distance reachable in 5-6 hrs. Each of these superfast trains depart from originating station early morning, reaching the destination by around midday. After a 30-minute to 1-hr stop over, it returns to its originating station, which it reaches by evening. The New Delhi - Bhopal Shatabdi Express is the fastest train in India, reaching a speed of 150 kmph. The first of the shatabdi express train was introduced in 1988. The year happened to be the birth centenary of India's first prime minister Jawahar Lal Nehru. "Centenary" translates into shatabdi in Hindi. Hence the name
